Mesra Eza is an Infrastructure Independent Advisor who has spent almost 40 years of his career in various aspects of the infrastructure industry. He started his career with the Government of Indonesia as a construction engineer at the site, then, proceeded with his career in planning, regulatory, strategy, and policy. He was Director of Transport under the Coordinating Ministry of Economics when he decided to leave his government job.
After working for the government, Mr. Eza worked for the World Bank looking after Indonesia’s transport-related projects. Subsequently, he works as a Vice President of planning for a Dubai-based large coal mining infrastructure developer, Middle East Coal, and Senior Vice President – Project Finance of Mizuho Bank, in Singapore. He was the Lead Advisor – Transport Planning, Policy, and Delivery of Indonesia Australia Partnership for Infrastructure to support sustainable and inclusive economic growth through improved access to infrastructure. He is currently an Advisor – Transport Infrastructure to Millenium Challenge Corporation, US Government Agency, to support the second Compact program for Indonesia, and is also teaching Construction Contract at President University.
Having worked in various aspects of infrastructure which ultimately ended in construction activities, provided him with the ability to look at legal aspects of construction, as well as construction law, from different angles and points of view. Mr. Eza holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology – Indonesia, a master’s degree in Construction Engineering from Northeastern University – USA, and an LLM in International Construction Law from De Monfort University, Leicester – United Kingdom.
